There is a lot of debate about whether it is worth staying with a Licence to watch BBC at present, with the offer shrinking alongside audience numbers.
Sadly, although I love much of the BBC output and still consider it great value, I think it isn’t on a sustainable footing.
Mostly, I think it is down to competition from other sources of entertainment.
Really talented people, like James Kirby, you can watch live (I have seen him twice at Hanger Farm) or on You Tube (here)…. why would I watch the over hyped “Britains Got Talent”, when you can search out and discover the real deal ?
