Traditionally, newspapers and other media outlets always struggled a bit for content during August. This is the month when school children are off, people go on holiday and things pretty much shut down, or at least slow down because nobody wants to schedule things for the height of summer.

However, things do change over time. I am personally as busy as I have ever been this month, spinning all sorts of plates. Maybe it is a reflection of society that we can no longer afford to step off the gas and slow down a bit?

How is August for you ? Certainly the weather is fine (although too dry here in the south of England)…

When I feel pressured I have the most wonderful of pressure valves to access… the New Forest. One of my former Board members on the New Forest Park Authority described it as his “psychiatrist”…. I know what he means… you can feel your shoulders loosening and your mind clearing when you are amongst your oldest of friends…. the trees.
