HUGE WIN FOR THE DISABLED…

Disabled child in wheelchair boarding a London bus using ramp, a huge win.
All the campaigning to get fairness for disabled bus travellers appears to have paid off with the announcement from the Prime Minister that the time restrictions on when they can travel are to be removed.
Special credit goes to the Waterside Change Makers and particularly people like Patricia Clements, a Marchwood resident, who worked tirelessly on this issue.
I believe that Andy Burnham implemented this policy when he was Mayor of Manchester. Up until now, we have had something of a postcode lottery with the Conservatives at Hampshire County Council failing to do anything, but the Labour led Southampton City Council being prepared to do so.
Now, the policy will be nation wide and implemented on April 1st 2027. A major step forward.
