I am surprised to find out that Hythe road, south of Marchwood has apparently now been completely closed, even to pedestrians and cyclists, by Southern Gas Network, (SGN).

This has serious implications for scores of people who use the road. It is the only road linking Marchwood to Hythe.

It may be that this is only a very temporary measure whilst a particular section of the pipe work they are laying is worked upon. However, I have contacted the company urgently to find out exactly what the situation is.
