Well, I managed it…. a whole week without using Facebook or any other social media platform.

To be honest, I don’t think I would have managed it but for the fact that I went on a holiday, courtesy of P&O’s cruise liner, Ventura.

I decided not to buy the Wi-Fi package and just stay out of touch (which is something my critics say I am anyway!)

The holiday was a little more interesting than expected. It was supposed to visit France but didn’t because of concerns about passenger safety with riots in the streets. On top of that, we had Storm Austin which we had to experience out at sea and prevented us from docking at Southampton for 24 hours.

I am not sure if it is “hooray” because of an extra day’s holiday, or a “Boo” because of the delay spent stuck on a rolling and pitching cruise ship, but I am grateful to everyone at P&O for keeping us safe from the riots and the storm and looking after us so well.

Now I have got to spend a bit of time catching up on what I missed….
