As many of my followers know, I have long taken an interest in railway matters.
Last week, I had meeting with Nick Farthing, the Chair and Director of Hampshire Community Rail Partnership.
We discussed a range of issues, some of which I will write about in future articles, but he was kind to gift me this book about regeneration of railway stations.
There are some brilliant examples of these valuable community assets brought back into life across the County. Sadly, there are also some not so good examples of stations suffering from a bit of neglect.
I mentioned to him the long standing issue of the footbridge at Totton, which has needed a rub down and coat of paint for 30 years now.
Still, the book serves as an inspiration for what can be achieved when the community gets behind a project.
