Pheasants can pop up in all sorts of places. This one was at the back of Mcdonald’s in Totton.

Pheasants are colourful, ground-dwelling birds best known for their striking plumage and adaptability. Male pheasants are especially eye-catching, with iridescent feathers, long tails, and bold markings, while females tend to be more camouflaged in shades of brown to blend into their surroundings when nesting.

One interesting trait is their explosive flight: although they spend most of their time on the ground, pheasants can burst into the air at high speed to escape predators. They are omnivorous, feeding on seeds, insects, berries, and small invertebrates, which helps them thrive in a variety of habitats such as farmland, grasslands, and woodland edges.
