CLAIMS, COUNTER CLAIMS AND COMFRY…

I intensely dislike the the political game playing that reaches a peak in the last few days before an election.
It’s not something I am going to bother with. To me, it reveals a level of desperation. The reality is that not one single candidate can guarantee they can deliver on promises made this side of an election.
We know that the County Council is in a really challenging financial situation. Whoever takes charge will find there is no simple solution to changing the situation unless or until Government sorts out a better way of funding the ever increasing burdens of social care and Children’s Services.
I have campaigned hard for many months. I would like to think in a positive way. I found time to visit my allotment plot today. It’s a bit of an escape from politics.
Pleased to see that one of my favourite plants is thriving… Comfry. It is a big hit with insects, especially the pollinators which are needed for so many other tasks.
The big bonus is that when it dies away, you can make a brilliant fertiliser with it. I know that this is a specialist subject with some politicians I could name !
