Here are two photographs of my rear garden. Back in January, I was looking out over my flooded lawn and thinking I had not seen it soaked like that since we moved into the property some 40 years ago.

Today, you can see the parched grass and the dying privet hedge…. it is a case of one extreme to another.

Climate Change scientists have been warning that we are experiencing rapid changes as a result of global warming that we will need to adapt to, quickly.

I think a very sensible approach is to do what we can towards not making global warming even worse… that is, reducing carbon emissions and doing all we can to encourage other Nations to follow suit.

Secondly, we are already living in a new era of extreme weather that we are forced to adapt to.

Frankly, I have no time for that breed of politicians who pretend that what’s happening is all a fiction, that climate change is nothing to do with carbon emissions, that we can carry on as if nothing has changed.

With fires breaking out all over the country, what more evidence do you need that things are changing ?

The very worst we can do is to ignore the problem and put these people into positions of power.
