There seems to be a bit of a head of steam building up to adopt this design as the official flag of the New Forest.

I rather like it. Maybe the timing is good, given the threat of the splitting of the New Forest into two by the Labour government ?

I am not proposing that people shimmy up lamp posts everywhere in Totton and Marchwood in order to display New Forest flags.

However, it would be good if we can all quickly agree that this is the design that’s most appropriate and becomes an item that can be used in the area, on flag poles.

It will be a visual reminder that this area is and always will be distinctly New Forest district and not part of a greater Southampton.
