Plants often do the strangest of things that you are not expecting. Here’s an example. I thought this plant would be low lying, or simply ground covering. Instead, this odd flowering tower suddenly appeared.

Usually, plants grow quite slowly…. but not always. I once went on holiday for a fortnight. On returning to my allotment plot I was amazed to find a plant that didn’t exist beforehand had arrived and grown to a height where it was looking down on me…. no doubt the inspiration for “Day of the Triffids”.
